Abstract
Objective: In order to compare the gingival subside effect by use of Neo-B 2 lanes toothbrush, as newly developed toothbrush available for modified Bass technique, to use with Butler 210 toothbrush, in clinical.

Methods: 67 volunteers for comparing 3 lanes and 2 lanes toothbrush and 51 volunteers were joined in clinical test, dividing with 2 groups as control using Butler 210 toothbrush and experimental group as using Neo-B toothbrush, for 4 weeks, PHP, PMA, CPI and CPITN were checked at before 1 week, 2 weeks and 4 weeks later and compared the data.

Results: The plaque removal effect was a little bit more by use of 3 lanes toothbrush than 2 lanes of Neo-B toothbrush, but there was no significant different statistically (p£¾0.05). PHP, PMA, CPI and CPITN were decreased at some period of using with Butler 210 2 lanes toothbrush as control group, for 4 weeks, otherwise, there were decreasing tendencies for all items for all terms I experimental group as using with Neo-B toothbrush (p£¼0.05). To use Neo-B toothbrush was more effective to decrease PMA by using for 4 weeks, than to use Butler 210 toothbrush.

Conclusion: It was recommended to use Neo-B 2 lanes toothbrush for early stage of gingivitis dental patient in order to subside it.
